Mill City: World Food Day 2016

    World Food Day is a day of action against hunger. People from all over the world join together to declare their commitment to eliminating hunger in our lifetime. Take part in the event at the Mill City Farmers’ Market this Saturday!

    From 10:30am – 11:00am, Market Chef Beth Jones will prepare a seasonal market meal during a free cooking demonstration for Mill City Cooks.

    From 11:00am – 1:00pm, Michael Keyes and Jim Krans will be playing Americana bluegrass music in the music tent, located near the Guthrie stairs.

    During the Farmers’ Market, there will be a vegetable tasting club for kids, aged 5-12. Kids will collect punches on trading cards and receive a $2 token to spend on produce at the market. The season PoP (Power of Produce) will be located at the market’s Information Booth in the center of the market on the Chicago Mall.

    Local artists will also be featured at the World Food Day Mill City Farmers’ Market, including: The Abbey Alpacas, Adam Gruetzmacher, Barn Swallow Garden, Stirsby, Birchberry Native Arts and Food, ArtAndes, and Sally Fritz Clothing.  Find them in the train shed.

    Enjoy local food by Black Cat Natural Foods, Chef Shack, Gorkha Palace, Salty Tart, Heritage Breads, Northern Fires Pizza, Solomon’s Bakery, The Bolt, Café Palmira.
